The privilege of living in various areas of the country has given me an appreciation of the
diversity found in nature, and the surprising visual similarities found in seemingly unrelated
scenery. I look for intriguing formations detailed in plant and sea life, then interpret these
visions into tactile vessels. Thanks to a landlocked upbringing, textures related to a churning
ocean are endlessly intriguing to me, and slightly alien. I keep this watery presence front of
mind in several of my forms, which by no coincidence also hold water.
