Debra began her career as a working artist in textiles, producing weavings and sculptural felted pieces. A chance bookbinding class in1983 changed her medium forever. An avowed "function freak", Debra now produces boxes constructed of paper, board, and any other material that strikes her fancy. Her boxes are available in a variety of evolving styles and are meant to be used as containers for any treasures that need a special place to rest. They are often used as gift boxes for jewelry, chocolates, poetry, promises, and on
at least one occasion a live frog.
