Wow. Andy, Ann’s son here. I wanted to say THANK YOU to all of you that have been a part of the Artists Greenhouse Sale over the years. I think we hit year 19 or so? What a magical place and time in our lives. It was so wonderful to hear stories about my mom and her impact on the community through art. She would be so proud that we pulled it off, and that her art, and her friend’s art, will be celebrated in so many of your homes.

When my dad passed she wrote about a beautiful sunrise, reminding her that he’s gone, but not. I hope that when you look at her art, and her final medium of flowers, you are reminded that she is gone, but not.

On May 17-18 the Last Artists Greenhouse Sale will be offering a gorgeous collection of Ann Munson's artwork to the public. This may be your last chance to own an original or print of Ann’s artwork!

Ann was a true animal lover, and this passion was reflected in her art. Her son, Andy had this to say about his mom:

“My mom has always had a soft spot for animals and would always say that they ‘hit the lottery’ when they landed here on the farm. She would really treat them as peers, with the dogs living right alongside her on the couch or jumping up on her bed at night.

I think at the height of it we had two horses, three goats, multiple basset hounds, cats, bunnies, ducks, geese, turkeys, goldfish, and then of course all the wild animals that call the woods home.

It was truly a symbiotic relationship, with her getting the joy of watching them and creating art from their presence and the animals of course receiving a loving place to call home.

To this day the chickens still produce a decent number of eggs that we sell at the little farm stand at the bottom of the driveway. The horses have moved on, and hopefully she is feeding them hay in heaven.”

It is with heavy hearts that we share that last week Ann Munson passed away suddenly. Ann was the creative force, and more, behind this event. Not only was this event conceived by Ann, but she also opened her home, shared her boundless energy, and fostered a deep love for the arts among all who attended.

While it is hard to imagine doing the sale without Ann, we are going forward with the sale as planned on May 17th and 18th. This is an opportunity for us to honor Ann’s legacy and offer her (and our) friends and faithful customers a chance to visit us in the greenhouse at the height of flower season and support the arts and Ann’s vision in a way that we think would have made her happy. Also, Ann’s family will offer a selection of her original artwork for purchase.
